Introduction

Institute of social transformation was established in 2011 by the academicians of like-minded people interested in rendering social service to the society. The main intention to establish this organization was to serve the downtrodden and underprivileged sections of the society especially tribal and rural communities. Even though several organizations are working in tribal or rural areas, the problems of this area have  remained unsolved. Two reasons have been presented for this situation. One more NGO is needed to work on various aspects of tribal or rural life as many more areas need concentrated efforts to find the solutions to the problem. A second more scientific approach is needed to unfold the problems for improving quality of life and improving living conditions of the socially excluded population. It is not so that the efforts were not made to solve the problems of underprivileged and socially excluded sections of the society. The efforts were made but the anticipated results weren’t achieved

There are several reasons for this under achievement. One of them is that whatever resources are available for the development, are not being used in a scientific way to yield optimum output.

On this background, some of the academicians came together to think how the collective efforts can be made to overcome this situation. After  having several discussions, it was decided to make an organized effort with a scientific approach. Accordingly, this organization was established exclusively to work for weaker sections of the society for improving the quality of life and living conditions in rural and tribal areas.

Considering the innate abilities available with rural areas for sustainable development, the organization is interested in conducting educational developmental activities in rural and tribal areas. This organization is also interested to work in collaboration at different levels with various organizations either at local level or national level.
